Happy Retirement, George!
In January 2016, George Jardine retired as the firm’s all-time favorite employee at the age of 89. George started working for the firm when he was 74 years old as our runner and file clerk. He came to us after retiring twice, unsuccessfully, from other careers. Who knew then that 15 years later he would still be working with us and going strong. After his retirement, George returned to the firm for a 90th birthday celebration in May. We had a wonderful time telling George stories and wearing commemorative “Big Damn Deal” t-shirts in his honor – his favorite saying.
George is a Navy veteran who served in World War II. In the year before he retired, he was chosen to take an Honor Flight to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. He had quite an emotional day sharing his experiences with other senior veterans from Indiana who served in the war.
Thank you George, a hundred times over, for your service to your country and to this firm.
